GANDHI

NOTE: I did not use spaces between two ears to write this one. I just used two ears instead. The last two paragraphs of the speech are really touching.

SOURCE: Gandhi ( A movie starring Sir Ben Kingsley as Gandhi)

BACKGROUND: Young lawer M.K Gandhi is in South Africa. He is fighting against the unjust laws of British Empire. Here he is giving speech in front of hunderds of Indians living in South Africa.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Gandhi comes ahead to speak. Loud Applause welcomes him.

Gandhi: I want to welcome you all, Everyone of you ( This time looking at British cops). We have no secrets. Let us begin by being clear about General *Smud's new Law. All Indians must be fingerprinted like criminals, Men and Women. No marriage other than a christian marriage is considered valid. Under this act our wives and mothers are whores and every man here is a bastard. And a policeman passing an Indian dwelling, huh I will not call it home, may enter and demand the card of any Indian women who's dwelling it is.........

People listening, make loud noise. Almost everyone shouts "What a hell is this" . Gandhi's continues in loud voice.

..........Understand, he does not have to stand at the door, he may enter....

One man shouts: I will not allow. Another man stands up and shouts: I swear to Allah, I will kill that man who offer that insult to my home and wife, and let them hang me (Looking at the British cops, cops are silent).
Loud Applause

Another man stands up and shouts: I say law means nothing, Kill one of a official before they disgrace one Indian women, then they might think twice about such laws. loud applause again and another man stands up and says : In that cause I would be willing to die.

Gandhi continues: ......I praise such courage. I need such courage because in this cause I too am prepared to die, but my friends their is no cause for which I am prepared to kill. Whatever they do to us we will attack no one, kill no one. But we will not give our fingerprints, not one of us. They will seize our possessions, but they cannot take away our self respect if we do not give it to them.

one voice from the assemblage asks : Have you been to prison ? they beat us and touture us. I say that....Gandhi interrupts and says:

...I am asking you to fight, to fight against their anger not to provoke it. We will not strike a blow, but we will receive them and through our pain we will make them see their injustice and it will hurt as all fighting hurts. But we can not loose. We can not. They may torture my body , break my bones, even kill me then they will have my dead body, not my obedience.

Thunderous Applause, it gets louder and louder.

Gandhi Continues: We are Hindu and Muslims, children of god. Each one of us. Let us take a solemn oath in his name that come what may, we will not submit to this law.

One old man stands up in respect, another joins him. It continues and within a minute everyone is on their feet and Gandhi leads a Prayer. Even British cops join them.

*Possible error: While listening It heard like General Smud to me. The name or spelling might be different. Excuse me for this.

FIRE

There is fire inside him. He is fully enraged and breathing venom. Something that I have not seen in years. So caustic, so acerbic but I don't and really don't know what's the reason. I a taken by surprise. But the thing I am more surprised is the fact that I seem to be least disturbed. I am surprised that I am still surviving. Similar thing around a year back would have ripped me apart.

So, there is definately some change deep inside. I am not sure what is it ? Am I far less emotional , or I am just being more practicle ( or matured) or something I do not know. I am maintaining tranquility and enjoying this state of mind. Oh god, yes its definately true.

Tomorrow's blog might be on Gandhi.

C u tomorrow.

Beginning

Hello and welcome to MprofIT's world.

Blogging with bizzare name, MprofIT ?? "What does this mean ?" U may think. Its an anagram of a code, purely fictional. I did not give much time to prepare but it might not be easy to decode, especially if u do not know me very well.

I have one solution for you to get out of this dilemma. Just "GIVE UP" your try.

This afternoon I was so impressed with my blogger friend that I could not resist blogging. So friends, Here I come.

I have always struggled to maintain descipline in my life. I started many things at different time but in most cases I never continued for long. I hope this will be an exception.

You might be thinking this guy has already started making excuses.

see u later,
